Turi Simeti Italian, 1929-2021

Overview

Turi Simeti is an Italian painter who, alongside artists such as Enrico Castellani and Agostino Bonalumi, is one of the most famous representatives of the Italian ZERO movement.  Simeti became famous for his abstract minimalist paintings and the discovery of the oval, a shape that becomes the stylistic hallmark of Simeti, rigorously monochromatic, towards the zeroing of volumes. Primordial element, it recalls Virgil's philosophical egg, but also the textures and patterns that made the style and taste of the 60s great.
